Driver Improvement Program Instructor Recertification

This One-day AAA Driver Improvement Program Instructor Recertification Course is for current certified DIP Instructors only. The course will be held from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on January 6, 2027 at the Bishop Professional Development Center located at 3601 SW 31st Street, Topeka, Kansas 66614.

This One-day AAA DIP Instructor Recertification Course is for current certified DIP Instructors only. This course requires the instructor to have the 11th Edition 2023, DIP Instructor PowerPoint Presentation Files curriculum. All instructors recertifying at this class are required to purchase or have this curriculum prior to attending the course. The purchase must be made through their AAA.biz account. prior to attending class. Sharing among instructors with the same employer is prohibited.

Each instructor recertifying as a DIP instructor shall meet these requirements with NO exceptions:

1. Current Certified DIP Instructor
2. Clean Driving Record (Contact KSDE School Transportation Unit Instructor with any questions)
3. Shall have a laptop computer with minimum 10 gigs of space on hard drive (No Chromebooks or Tablets they will not work and are not acceptable).
4. Shall have Microsoft Power Point software installed on the laptop. (Google slides and Apple Keynote do not work and are not acceptable)
5. The laptop must have at least the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed..
6 You must have purchased and downloaded to the laptop's hard drive, the 11th Edition 2023, DIP Instructor PowerPoint Presentation Files from your AAA.BIZ account prior to class. Approximate cost is $800.
7. You shall bring the laptop with the Microsoft Power Point, Adobe software and the new downloaded curriculum to the class.
8. MUST have external mouse.

Note: The cost of this curriculum through the AAA.biz account is approximately $800.00.

Driving Record

AAA requires all Driver Improvement Program Instructors to be at least 21 years of age and to have a good driving record for the past three years. A copy of your current Driver’s License Record is required. Please submit to the KSDE School Transportation Safety Unit, prior to the class, via email sarah.harter@ksde.gov or fax 785-296-6659.

A PDF copy of your Driving Record may be obtained from the Kansas Department of Revenue 

You must pay for an official copy of your driving record. The free status check does not meet AAA requirements.
